The Best Twin Stroller (In My Opinion)
When it comes to investing in baby gear, there are few pieces more important (and more expensive) than the twin baby stroller. So many people have asked for recommendations on the best twin stroller, that I figured I would share what we used.
Before we dive in, if you’re looking into twin strollers, there’s a good chance you’re also looking into other twin baby gear. If so, I’ve dedicated an entire section of the Twin Winning site to it. A few of the most popular posts:

When you start looking at buying a double stroller, you’ll soon realize there are two distinct styles available:
1. The Side-By-Side Double Stroller
In this one, your twins will sit next to each other. It’s the widest model available (naturally), yet often still has decent maneuverability. In my experience, fewer of these are convertible or work with car seats.
2. The Front-To-Back Double Stroller
In this style, babies sit one in front and one behind. They’re typically longer for this reason.
Some models have both babies facing forward, so they can’t interact with each other. Others allow the seats to flip both directions, so they can face each other when you want and flip they away from each other when you want (typically when the kiddos start to bicker).
These ones even sometimes work with car sets, attaching them onto the double stroller frame, though it does usually require attachments that need to be purchased separately.
So, what did we pick?
We went with the Baby Jogger City Select. It’s a convertible front-to-back model and it was the perfect fit for us. Why?
Firstly, with the right adaptors, it fit our twin infant car seats. When we had two sleeping twins and wanted to get them from car to crib without them waking, the fewer movements we had to do, the better. Being able to simply lift their car seats from the car into the stroller was huge. Every wink of sleep helped.
Editors note: Make sure to always follow safe sleeping practices with little ones.
Secondly, it converts in so many different configurations. Twins facing each other, twins both looking forward, one car seat with one regular seat, two car seats, etc. The combinations seem almost endless.
Thirdly, it offers a rollerboard attachment, meaning our toddler could ride along with us. As she was still 2yrs old when they were born (check out how we survived 3 under 3 here), this was a huge benefit. Even now, when she’s 4, we sometimes use it.
Finally, we’ve had it for almost 5 years, having used this stroller it for our Singleton, in anticipation of having a 2nd kid (little did we know!). It’s still going strong today. If you’re anything like me, when you drop money on a piece, you want it to last. This one has for us.
Finding YOUR Best Twin Stroller
Ultimately, Twin baby shopping is all about finding what works for you.
Try out different models, think about what features are more or less important to you, what your budget is, and how it will get used:
- Daily? Infrequently?
- Locally or for frequent trips? For air travel?
- Used in your neighbourhood or carried into the car each day?
- For one kid? Twins? Siblings?
- Do you need multiple configurations, or can you get by without?
Ultimately, it’s all about finding the way to live your best life with two in tow. And remember, if there’s anything I can do to help you do thrive with two, I’m just an email away and love to hear from you.
Oh – and a bonus suggestion:
Get the attachable coffee mug holder. Trust me on this one. You will need it.
