Week 23 Twin Pregnancy Experience: Starting to Feel Large
I go through periods of feeling quite large and heavy, and I go through periods where I feel totally normal and not pregnant. If those heavy days are a hint of what’s to come, whooo boy! In my week 23 twin pregnancy experience, sometimes I can’t believe I’m only 23 weeks along. It’s hard to believe what full term will be like. Other times, however, I can’t believe 23 weeks have already passed.
Viability is next week, which is an exciting time. It means if the babies were born, they would stand a chance (albeit a small one) of surviving. It’s also the time where I’m supposed to start counting kicks. I worry sometimes that I don’t feel kicks in a certain area of my belly. With a singleton you don’t have to worry about that. If you feel a movement, any movement, there’s reassurance that the baby is okay. With twins, even if one is kicking around, you worry about the other one. I guess the worrying stars early!
To help with modifying activity, I’ve been working from home one day a week, trying to put my feet up. I’ve also started limiting lifting as much as possible…though with a toddler running around, that can prove to be a challenge.
In terms of preparation, our Amazon cart is loaded, and one furniture trip has already been completed. However, there’s still lots to do.
